This policy explains what personal data The Houseplant Confidence System collects when you use nomoredeadplants.com, why we collect it, and how we use and protect it. We are the data controller for this website. You can reach us at hello@nomoredeadplants.com.
What data we collect
We collect the following personal data:
- Email address and name — when you sign up for the free diagnosis guide, complete one of our plant quizzes, or make a purchase.
- Quiz responses — processed in your browser to generate your result. Your email address and result type are sent to our email system so we can follow up. Your individual answers are not stored on our servers.
- Purchase information — when you buy through this website, Stripe processes your payment. We receive your email address from Stripe to fulfil your order. We never receive or store your card details.
We also use browser session storage (not cookies) to temporarily hold UTM attribution parameters during your visit. This data is not sent to any server and is cleared automatically when you close your browser tab.
Why we collect it and our lawful basis
- To deliver what you requested — sending you the free guide or confirming your purchase. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.
- To send follow-up emails — if you sign up for the free guide or complete a quiz, we will send you relevant emails about the guide and our other products. Lawful basis: legitimate interests. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.
- To fulfil your order — confirming your purchase and providing your download link. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.
Who we share your data with
We use the following third-party services to operate this website. Each has its own privacy policy and processes your data only as necessary to provide their service:
- Stripe — payment processing. stripe.com/gb/privacy
- Resend — email delivery. resend.com/privacy
- Vercel — website hosting. vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy
- Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd — advertising (Meta Pixel), only if you accept cookies. facebook.com/privacy/policy
We do not sell your personal data to any third party.
How long we keep your data
- Email list — until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your data.
- Purchase records — seven years, as required by HMRC for UK tax purposes.
Cookies
We use two categories of cookies and similar technologies:
- Strictly necessary — our hosting provider, Vercel, may set infrastructure cookies for load balancing and security. These are required for the site to function and cannot be switched off.
- Advertising — we use the Meta Pixel (operated by Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd), which places cookies to help us measure the effectiveness of our adverts on Facebook and Instagram.
